My Story
Hi, I am Jyotsna, your Author Success Coach and founder of Author Success Academy. I am here to helpĀ coaches, trainers, speakers and experts to build a super profitable author funnel with the help of their book. My journey towards freedom began when I decided never to be an employee ever again. I tried out various businesses to support my decision- started a staff recruitment agency, became a franchisee of a chocolate brand, did freelance web designing, before I finally started publishing books!
The arrival of my daughter Advika was the turning point in my life. I realized during my maternity break that none of my businesses were giving me the freedom I wanted, to balance my family & career. The moment when I had to choose between attending an important client call and feeding my crying baby, was the defining moment of my life. I chose the latter option and while I was feeding my kid, tears of guilt were dripping from my eyes to her cheeks. I made a decision to find a way to balance both my family and career. I understood that in order to enjoy true freedom I needed to start an online business thatāll allow me to work from wherever I want, whenever I want. Thatās how I got into online book publishing.
In 6 months my book royalties exceeded the money I was making from other businesses. So, I shut down all my other businesses and made publishing my full-time gig. I was proud of what Iāve been able to achieve while being a stay-at-home mom and decided to share my story to help people who were stuck in the wrong jobs. As a result, I published my first book Job Escape Plan, which went on to become an international bestseller and was even listed by Inc.com as one of the Top 10 start your own business books of 2015.
My book opened so many new opportunities into my life. I got interviewed by TV, newspaper, magazines, radio, blogs and podcasts.
I realised what becoming an author can do to a personās life and started Happy Self Publishing from my home office, to help aspiring authors to get their books self-published professionally.
We have so far worked with more than 400 clients from 35 countries with the help of my virtual, global team at Happy Self Publishing.

My book has not just helped me grow my business, but has also helped me create a lifestyle where I get to spend a lot of time with my family and pursue my passion for dancing and travelling. Iāve been able to focus on my health and fitness and lose all the weight I gained during my two pregnancies. Iāve also been able to visit 15 countries so far and my goal is to travel to 40 countries by the time I turn 40.
I believe in being a life-long learner. Only with constant education we can build our mindset and skills to grow to the next level. I feel extremely grateful to all the teachers and mentors Iāve learnt from and continue to learn from.
Iām now on a bigger mission. So far, Iāve been helping only those people who come to us at Happy Self Publishing with a ready manuscript. However, there are so many more people who aspire to become authors but donāt have access to the right information, accountability and tools to make them finish their books. The realisation of this vacuum has made me create Author Success Academy – the community and course for authors to finally get their book done.
