The term “Ghostwriting” is not a strange word to anyone, especially in the Publishing Industry. In fact, ghostwriters were part of my success when I first started with self-publishing. In the first place, I never had any experience in publishing any book and was never confident in writing one. However, I found that self-publishing was a fantastic business idea! So, I thought, maybe I can hire someone who can write a book for me about certain topics that were interesting and relevant at that time, pay them a commission, publish the book on Amazon under different pen names, and basically wait for it to fetch me ROYALTIES!

For me, it was indeed the perfect business model to start with! And for a year, it was raking me good money! However, after 50 different titles, I had this urge to share my own authentic message with the world about how I quit my job and started a business through my book. Hence, “Job Escape Plan” was born.

After publishing my first book, “Job Escape Plan”, my husband, Dr. Girish, got inspired to publish his own book. But after a year of trying, he realized that it just wasn’t working for him. And because he was determined to materialize his goals of having his very own book and establishing his authority as a Relationship Coach, he approached me for help. Immediately, I suggested ghostwriters to help ease his burdens! However, he wasn’t too keen about having someone to write his book and adding their inputs. He wanted to make sure that it was his own voice and own thoughts that are published. He needed the book to be HIS book!

So, in the span of 10 days, I sat down with Girish to ask him questions and listened to his story while I record the whole interview. The recordings help me cover 10 chapters and ultimately finish writing the book for him. Technically, I was the writer, but Girish was the author, and he has never been so happy to finally publish his book.

I thought about the process that we used to write my husband’s book and realized that we can probably use the same for others who are struggling to write! For a second there, I thought I could coin the term “Angel Writing” but as I googled further, I found out that Angel Writing is already being used for years in the Publishing Industry! Nevertheless, I had this brilliant idea to use Angel Writing as a Publishing Service with Happy Self Publishing. And since then, we in Happy Self Publishing have successfully helped numerous authors publish several books who initially had trouble starting or finishing their book.

Now, let’s dive into the difference between Ghost Writing and Angel Writing.

How your book is written. With Angel Writing, you bring in your expertise to the book while in Ghost Writing, the ghostwriter writes what they feel is right for the book.

When you get your book ghostwritten, it is the ghostwriter who brings in their inputs in the book. Usually, the ghostwriter’s input is based on their expertise and knowledge on the topic or subject you’d like to publish but many times their inputs would be coming from other information and stories they find online. If you’re looking to publish a book as a business to earn money, a ghostwriter can help you reach that money-making goal of yours.

If your ultimate goal is to publish a book to share your knowledge and expertise, but find the actual writing of the book to be a tedious, time-consuming job for you, then Angel Writing is your best bet in making that dream come true.

In the angel writing process, instead of the hired writer putting down their own inputs on the book, it’s the authors themselves who get to bring in their knowledge on the topic they are an expert on. Thus, allowing the authors to actually share their message to the world!

Your voice as an author.  In Ghost Writing, a lot of times the voice of the author is not captured. This is because experienced ghostwriters have developed a certain way of writing which would usually reflect on the books they write for their clients. On the other hand, an angel writer’s goal is to make sure that your voice as an author is not muted.

Angel writers would take the extra step in ensuring your message is shared through your voice, through your book. They do this by watching your videos, reading blogs written by you, and listening to your past interviews. They will observe you, analyze patterns with the way you speak and share your thoughts, and use common words and phrases that you normally use. This process helps them incorporate YOU into your book to ensure that your voice will never be lost.

Your involvement as an author. When you completely outsource your book writing to a ghostwriter, you basically just let them do what they think is best for your book based on the topic you want to publish. Therefore, less involvement from you. And most of the time, you simply sit and wait.

With Angel Writing, you will be completely involved with the entire writing process of your book. Since for every chapter completed, your angel writer will sit with you to review and make the necessary revisions to ensure that each message in each chapter of your book is even more powerful than the other.

So, with Ghost Writing, your involvement is not a requirement, although it is welcomed! With Angel Writing, you direct the path on where you want your book to be and have the final say on how your book should sound.

Now, as I mentioned in the video, many famous books were actually never written by the author themselves! In addition, the majority of authors would usually hire someone who can help them put their thoughts into words. Most of these authors would be famous experts in their own industry, and you might even have read their books.

Think about it! If these high-achievers and top performers in their industry can lose their ego and get their book written by somebody else just because they believe that they are not the right fit to write the book, so can you and I!

If you have a strong message you’d like to share with the world, but you are not a great writer, it’s okay to ask for help. Although your ultimate dream is to share your knowledge and expertise, your goal is to make sure that your book can capture your target readers’ attention. You will struggle with sharing your message to anyone if your book is not engaging enough.

To make sure that your book will appeal to your target readers, seek an Angel Writer. An angel writer can provide the help every author needs to perfect their book without having to lose the author’s voice.
